The Waitsfield United Church of Christ will be joining with us in Warren to begin this journey of Lent on Wednesday, March 2 @ 5:30pm. Ash Wednesday Services recall our humanity and acknowledge our mortality, as God calls us to prepare our hearts for the journey with Jesus to the cross and beyond. We will spend time in prayer, practice letting go, receive ashes, share communion, hear readings from scripture that challenge and comfort us. Rev. Mark Wilson will be offering a message.
As Christians prepare for Christmas through the season of Advent, the church prepares for Easter through the season of Lent (beginning Ash Wednesday, taking us to Palm Sunday and right through Holy Week). Lent is a long season in the church, often coinciding with the depths of late winter and the gradual return of lighter and longer days.
All are welcome! Plenty of parking right next to the church. Accessible ramp at the back entrance of the church.
