Church World Service (CWS) Collection for Blankets
“And don’t forget to do good and share with those in need” – Hebrews 13:16
The Mission Committee is sponsoring this year’s CWS Blanket collection on Sunday, May 1, with wrap up on Mother’s Day, May 8. In 2021, congregational gifts to CWS provided over 183,000 CWS Blankets and Kits to families impacted by hurricanes, tornados, flooding and other crises (including homelessness and poverty). A $10 gift provides one blanket.
There will be envelopes available for this donation. If you’d like to give a donation in honor of your mother, or another woman who mothered you in your life, write her name and mailing address on the envelope. The Missions Committee will mail a note card stating a blanket has been donated in their name – be sure to include who the donation is from if you’d like us to include it on the notecard.
Checks should be payable to the Warren United Church and the Church will send a single check to Church World Service.
