One of the delightful aspects of living in the Mad River Valley is the surprising number of cultural opportunities available in such a rustic setting. The Warren United Church is a prime example of that cultural surprise, being host to an impressive and vibrant musical program that makes a joyful noise that resonates throughout the valley. The music program is team led by gifted, committed and diverse musicians who bring unique offerings and strengths to the program.
The church’s liturgical music program is diverse, enriching church worship with selections ranging from Bach to Billie Holiday. The church supports Scrag Mountain Music, a community supported chamber music program that is, according to Jim Lowe of the Barre Montpelier Times Argus, “an intimate approach…particularly inviting to new audiences”. During the holiday season the church hosts annual concerts for the Vermont Symphony Brass Quintet and Counterpoint, a world renowned a ‘Capella ensemble. The Mad River Chorale also performs at the church.
